Project Objectives

The client aimed to identify its customers among pulmonologists and understand the therapeutic approaches in the management of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

The project involved gaining insights into how pulmonologists in France treat IPF, the therapies they employ, the timing and methods of treatment administration, and any referral patterns or caseload burdens affecting ideal IPF management.

Challenges

The client needed a comprehensive understanding of the context in which pulmonologists treat IPF, including the specific therapies utilised, treatment timing, and potential challenges in referral patterns and caseloads. Previous attempts with other agencies for moderation and recruitment had not met expectations in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.

  1. Moderation and recruitment issues
Previous agencies used for moderation and recruitment were not as effective and efficient as expected.
  2. Fielding duration
The client faced challenges in achieving recruit quotas within a short timeframe.

The Med Planet Solution

Med Planet aimed to demonstrate its expertise in pharmaceutical market research, particularly in the field of IPF, by submitting to a test interview for the client’s evaluation. Recognising the client’s struggle to meet recruiting quotas, Med Planet targeted pulmonologists with relevant expertise and experience, ensuring a more targeted and efficient recruitment process.

Leveraging experience from other conditions, such as pulmonary arterial hypertension, Med Planet successfully identified pulmonologists with a specific level of expertise in managing IPF. The team worked diligently to achieve the client’s desired recruit quota, allowing them peace of mind, even during the Thanksgiving holiday.

To expedite the analysis process on the client’s end, Med Planet provided audio files of interviews as requested deliverables on a rolling basis, ensuring the client had access to information promptly.

Client Impact

The client’s feedback at the end of the project was highly positive. Med Planet’s approach enabled the client to meet all study requirements established by the final client. In comparison to previous fieldwork done with other agencies, the client highlighted the shortcomings of those agencies, which motivated them to test Med Planet for quality interviews. Despite previous attempts with multiple agencies, Med Planet successfully helped the client reach a full quota for this specific project on IPF.

Conclusion

Med Planet’s strategic and efficient approach not only addressed the challenges faced by the client but also allowed the client to meet all the study requirements. By using Med Planets knowledge and extensive network we were able to highlight other conditions that would be able to contribute to how pulmonologists in France treat IPF helping to meet the study quota.
